You not only need energy for general game play, but you will typically need about 500-550 energy to get fully through a comp. To make the high scores the club needs, you can collect energy in the following ways:
- Attend all the daily meetings in the cafe to exchange drinks! We meet at 4:00 pm US ET, 9:00 pm UK, even if it says something different in game! You don't have to stay long, just log in, leave a drink or two, collect the others, and after 30 minutes (when drinks expire), you can check again for any new drinks. Each drink you collect is worth from 9 to 15 energy [more on how that happens in a future post!].
- Save Star Boosters you get in Star Boxes for comps. Activate a Star Booster in regular game play right before playing the comp to get a bar of energy. [More on Star Boosters in a future post!]
- Save Character Picture Puzzles for comps. You get Character Cards in Star Boxes, and once you have all of the cards for one character, wait until you are ready to play a comp, click on the suitcase at the bottom right of the screen, go to the puzzle page, and complete a picture puzzle to get a bar of energy. [More on this in a future post!]
- It is up to you if you want to save all of your Star Boxes. We have heard that if you do save them up, you end up getting better prizes! Open up any saved up Star Boxes right before the comp, but if you think you have enough energy, don't open them all. Save them!
- Be sure to Gift Bushes to team members' islands on a daily basis! It does cost coins, but you get 10 energy after each 5 you gift. Most of us keep a rotating list of club members to visit, as there is a limit to how many bushes you can gift each day. Also, once others gift you bushes, you can click on them and get rid of them to earn diamonds and sometimes coins! Remember bushes that cost diamonds gift the receiver coins, and bushes that cost coins gift the receiver diamonds!
- And save up those Diamonds! If you are not a fan of buying diamonds with real money, the best strategy is to not spend them on decorations, as the amount of flowers you get is usually not worth it. We save up diamonds to give extra coffees at meeting times (the first one is free, second is 10 diamonds, 20 diamonds for the third, etc.). We usually don't put out more than two drinks so we can spend diamonds on more energy for comps, if you don't have enough after all the previous suggestions. You do this by clicking on the plus button on your energy bar. There is also an option to permanently upgrade your energy bar from 110 to 150 for 799 diamonds. We all feel like that is worth saving up for!
